It was a dark and rainy Sunday afternoon, and ironically, the only day Tabby had off that week. So, allow me to clue you in on how the young woman wound up spending all her free time in a muddy cemetary. You see, she was originally just going to sit at home, watch some tv and catch up on her sleep. Unfortunately, once the storm started, the power went out; lights, tv, computer, fridge, everything. Now, you may ask, what's stopping her from going straight to bed? There one word that can answer that: thunder. Tabby was terrified of it, at least, when she's alone in a bloody dark room.
Knowing she'd never be able to stay calm in her quiet apartment, she pulled on her rain coat, boots and large hat, hopefull that she wouldn't get wet. Walking down the streets, she was surprised to find them all empty when she knew quite a few people who absolutely loved the rain. Continuing on her little walk, not really sure where she was going, Tabby stopped in a small store to dry off, her coat and hat not working as well as she'd hoped. Looking around the store, she noticed dozens of types of flowers and it hit her that there was a cemetary just down the road from this store.
Buying three dozen white, yellow and pink roses and one plain red one, she paid for them all and headed out into the rain again, this time with a perpous. Pushing open the large and heavy gate, she walked slowly into the graveyard, carely not to step on anyone's grave. At that precise moment the rain stopped and the clouds parted to reveal a setting sun. Walking in between the tombstones, she began reading off the names to herself and placed a single rose on each one as she passed. Finally, coming to the end of her eighth row, Tabby stopped in front of the tombstone shaped like a graceful angel with her wings spread, as if getting ready to take off. Sitting down in front of the statue, the twenty-one-year-old read the inscription on the bottom:
Jessica Stevie Sparrow 1986-2007 Wonderful Daughter and Friend Loved and Missed R.I.P.
Gently placing a pink rose in the small vase beside the grave, a tear rolled down Tabby cheek. She began thinking about all the times she'd spent with Jessie. They had grown up together, been classmates since kindergarten. They'd even gone to the same college. It was needless to say, strange to now be standing on her grave, only a few weeks after her sudden death. Trying to calm herself down, Tabbitha pulled the red rose, the only one she had left, closer to her. It was reserved to someone whose name would not be found amungst the dead, for nobody knew where Ryan really was.
