"Number 33, Emma Cole, takes the court. She shoots... And she scores! Yes ladies and gentlemen, we have a master in our presence. Woo, yeah!" Emma Cole danced around the basketball court watching the round orange sphere roll to her feet. Her curly blonde locks were in a mess that morning. It was foggy and Hale looked slightly damper that day from the rain just the night before.

She wore a pair of plain, dark denim jeans and a The Hives t-shirt. Atop her messy locks was a San Francisco Giants baseball cap and she wore Oxford style black Converse tennis shoes. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with fun even though this really wasn't the atmosphere for it at all. People were dying around her every day and she had no idea if she'd soon catch the virus or if she'd be okay. Every day was supposed to feel numbered yet, she was the same old Em she'd alwyas been. She laughed and played b-ball and listened to her iPod addictively and bugged Jacks and Myles in almost all her spare time. Speakign of Jacks and Myles... Where was Jacks? Em had wondered sicne she'd been wishing for a basketball buddy for a while now. Perhaps Jacks was feeling well enough that day to play her? She didn't know for sure. Nax was hard to be sure of.

Emma spotted Jackie there, just as she'd hit her thoughts. Wow, was her friend psychic or something? Em turned to her laughingly. "Well, if it isn't my Jacks?" she laughed. It was great to see Jackie, especially outside, looking refreshed as though she'd never had Nax at all. Emma was always proud of Jackie, she was one of the strongest people Em had ever known.

"Oh, you bet. I havne't played you one on one in sooooo long." She half comeplained as she picked up the ball and threw it over to Jackie. She'd missed this sort of thing. It always felt like denial though, as though Em refused to admit that lives were at stake or something. She wanted to cling to the fun of it though. "So, where's your beaux? He quit playing b-ball or soemthing?" Em asked jokingly. It was complicated, beig such close friends with both Myles and Jackie but, she never had any regrets. They were two of her closest friends in the world and she wouldn't give them up for the world.
